Patch #3 for Canadian Astronaut
Tuesday, 21 April 2009 16:00

Time has moved by us quite rapidly and the news of Bill Helin's 3rd astro patch has faded gently into outer space.  As earlier reported about two  months ago, Bill was commissioned by the Canadian Space Agency to create a 3rd patch, to be worn on the uniform of Canadian astronaut Bob Thirsk for his 6 month mission on the International Space Station.

Doctor Thirsk approached Mr. Helin in 1993 to ask him to design a personal patch to represent him as a proud Canadian and lover of First Nations Art and Traditions.

Intracately designed in the patch is the foundational Thunderbird Life Crest with different elements that tell the story of Dr. Thirsks work with NASA, Can Space Ag. and the other Nations that are participating in the building and operations of the Space Station.
