NEW STUDENTS- After 30 years of creative Native jewelry and fine art production, my life has been blessed with many stories of the new collectors that I teach my Tsimshain Indian artforms and heritage. When I say collector I mean that most people who are intrigued by the visual components of this beautiful and mysterious artfrom, have no idea what they are looking at until they are taught. This is my responsibility as the expert, so the best way to start has been with owning a piece of my jewelry. NEW TREND- This Native jewelry has become very popular in British Columbia and is now gaining world attention mainly because of the 2010 Olympic games held in Vancouver B.C. The stage show for the opening ceremonies was a west coast First Nations art and cultural feast for the eyes, as the floor and the ceiling of GM Place came alive with amazing mythological characters that evolved from most of the tribal groups of B.C. Millions of people from around the world were able to witness the beauty of mystical creatures from the sacred legends in two and three dimensional creations. This enhanced the sales of some lower end native products but for the long term has left a lasting impression on all who have witness the shows and adverticements that promote all the facets of First Nations gifts, art and jewelry. Most of my clients have seen the art somewhere in a Canadian community or on their travels to our fine west coast and Vancouver Island, in my art gallery and other retail outlets. These first purchased gifts and keepsakes have planted the seeds that drw many love birds towards the new Love Ring and Jewlery trend. WOMEN RULE- Again with the trend starting from the exposure of the traditional art forms my greatest success comes from the transformation of the two dimensional art to the two and three dimensional Love Rings and Jewlery that tells a personal story, mainly about the wearer or owner of the precious metal gift. This usually begins with the fact that women love jewelry and shiny sparkly fashions than men do, and men will buy these gifts if they want to impress their women. I teach them about the art as it tells their story through a spiritual transformation, into an animal character as a mythological character. This can be your own tribal crest or it can be your favourite animal. Again if you love your lady you better get her what she wants to keep her happy and to keep her connected to you, and that is how the Life Crests live in the Love Jewelery as a reminder of how much you love eachother and how much you love nature as it is reflected in the traditional artforms and wearable art. More about this Love Ring and Jewelry journey can be explored in my website content in the Discover Your Life Crest area.
