WeLaaxumYout was born in Prince Rupert B.C. Canada in October of 1960. His Mother is Norweigan and his late Father Arthur was a Tsimshian Indian Chief by the name of Hyemass.
Bill has had a very rewarding career as a designer, creative gold and platinum engraver, painter, woodcarver, book illustrator and writer.
His designing abilities in art and fashion follow his Tsimshian Indian traditions, telling stories and displaying native `Life Crests` that transform and come to life in every beautiful creation. In 1996 Bill took a break from the fashion and jewelry business to focus on his designing, writing and illustrating of childrens mythology stories. This new creative journey has brought him into the animation world and soon will bring his stories to life in 3-D computer generated movies.

Bill Helin's proud native Indian heritage has played an important role in his growth as an artist. Helin is of the Tsimshian Indian Nation, born and raised in the Northwest coastal community of Prince Rupert, B.C.
His Grandfather, Henry William Helin, was Chief of the Gitlan Tribe, and his Grandmother, Maud Helin, was Chieftainess of the Gitsiis Tribe. They raised a family of seven in the remote Northwest coast Indian village of Port Simpson,(Lax Kw`alaams) B.C. When his Grandmother came to live with his family, Bill spent many hours listening in wonder as she spoke of the ways of the Past and the importance of Tsimshian art and culture. Through his 'Granny', Bill learned first hand the many Legends of the Tsimshian.

As a proud father of four, I love to teach and pass on my inspirations and experiences to keep the family's heritage alive. "My children teach me something new about life all the time, they inspire me to be a better example to them and others. Love is what we share the most, family unity is our example".
